The CMT Technician performs soil and concrete testing on commercial construction sites in the Abilene area. This hands-on, field-based role involves conducting material tests, documenting results, and communicating with project teams to ensure quality and compliance.

• Perform soil, concrete, density, compaction, and gradation testing on active job sites.
• Conduct slump, air/pressure, and other required construction materials tests.
• Operate nuclear density gauges and other testing equipment.
• Accurately record and report test results.
• Communicate findings and project updates with site personnel and internal teams.
• Transport, load, and maintain testing equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and project requirements.

• 3+ years of construction materials testing or related field experience.
• Experience with soil density, compaction, and concrete testing.
• Familiarity with nuclear density gauges (Troxler or similar).
• Strong attention to detail with basic math and reporting skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime.

• Knowledge of ACI and NICET standards.
• Interest in obtaining industry certifications.

Primarily outdoor work on active construction sites. Requires lifting and transporting testing equipment and the flexibility to work variable schedules, typically 40-60 hours per week. A supportive, team-oriented culture focused on training and career growth.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DALLAS, TX.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
