Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a hybrid Lead CMS Engineer to join their team in Sandy Springs, GA.
Summary:
The Lead CMS Engineer will provide hands-on technical leadership for the content platform powering the Digital Platform white-label digital ordering experience across various brands. This role owns Contentful end to end - the content model, menu data pipeline, CMS integration patterns, environment strategy, and content operations that keep content accurate and live across web and mobile.
This is a CMS-first role, not a general front-end role. The core accountability is the content and menu platform: content architecture, migrations, environments, integrations, governance, and editorial enablement. Front-end web engineering (React/Next.js/TypeScript) is a strong bonus used to connect the content layer to the rendering layer, but the CMS platform is the focus.
The role sits at the intersection of engineering and the business. Menu and content changes at the client are revenue events - LTO launches, monthly promotions, price and market tests, new product builds, and deactivations all land on fixed go-live dates. The Lead CMS Engineer is accountable for making those launches predictable and for reducing the manual, engineer-dependent work they require.
This role also drives delivery through a hybrid model of internal resources and offshore vendor teams, ensuring partner work meets the client's standards for quality, predictability, transparency, and engineering excellence. The ideal candidate is both a strong technical lead and a hands-on engineer who can guide delivery while contributing to code, migrations, and content model design.
REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant focus on headless CMS and content platform work, including 3+ years hands-on with Contentful, plus multi-brand, multi-channel, or multi-locale data sets
* Hands-on experience with the Contentful Content Delivery, Preview, Management, and GraphQL APIs
* Hands-on experience with the Contentful CLI and scripted, version-controlled migrations executed through CI/CD, plus working knowledge of roles and permissions, webhooks, and scheduled publishing
* Experience integrating a CMS with upstream systems of record and downstream web and mobile consumers, including data mapping, sync jobs, and reconciliation
* Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills, plus Node.js for tooling, migrations, and integration services
* Experience with Git-based workflows, PR reviews, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile/Scrum delivery, and with diagnosing production content and data issues under launch-driven deadlines
* Experience working with offshore engineering teams, vendor partners, or distributed delivery models, with proven ability to hold partner teams accountable for quality, timelines, and release commitments
* Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain content architecture tradeoffs to engineers, brand stakeholders, and non-technical authors in a fast-paced multi-brand environment with fixed marketing dates
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
This job is not eligible for bonuses, incentives or commissions.
Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, protected veteran status, or disability status.
