POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) serves as a key member of Blaze Media's executive leadership team, responsible for defining and executing the company's overall marketing vision and strategy. The CMO ensures Blaze Media's brand identity, storytelling, and audience engagement align with its mission to empower creators and champion free expression.
This executive will lead integrated marketing efforts that strengthen brand equity, drive audience growth, and expand revenue streams across subscription, digital, and distribution platforms. The CMO partners closely with the CEO, content, and revenue teams to deliver data-driven strategies that amplify reach, deepen audience loyalty, and position Blaze Media as a leader in the independent media space.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and execute Blaze Media's long-term marketing strategy to drive brand awareness, audience expansion, and revenue growth.
  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to define company positioning and ensure all marketing initiatives align with business goals and brand values.
  • Lead brand strategy, digital marketing, audience insights, communications, events, and creative direction to ensure consistent and compelling messaging across all channels.
  • Oversee performance marketing and data analytics to optimize customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Champion audience engagement initiatives that foster loyalty, community, and advocacy among Blaze Media's diverse audience.
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing marketing organization that thrives on collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with content, product, and sales leaders to align marketing strategy with revenue and growth objectives.
  • Represent Blaze Media externally as a thought leader and brand ambassador, building strategic partnerships and industry relationships that expand reach and influence.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, including senior or executive-level roles within media, entertainment, or digital platforms and/or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful brand and audience growth strategies in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Deep expertise in digital marketing, analytics, audience engagement, and content-driven brand building.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and storytelling skills; capable of inspiring teams and influencing at the highest levels.
