Job description

**Position available to work out of any of Pennoni's Maryland offices (Baltimore, Frederick, Salisbury)**

Pennoni Associates is current seeking a Construction Inspector. with experience consistent, but not limited to:

  • Work in the field at construction sites as a Construction Inspector for highway / public works projects

  • Review drawings, specifications, and perform mathematical calculations based on field measurements

  • Test materials such as soils, concrete, and asphalt as determined by project need

  • Coordinate with contractors, engineer, owner, our project team, and the public

  • Prepare clear and concise daily field reports, which includes photographs and sketches

  • Must be willing to work outdoors in differing weather conditions, near heavy equipment and construction operations, and within highway work zones

  • Must be willing to work overtime/nights/weekends as project requirements dictate.

Licenses required:

  • Must obtain and maintain certifications, such as OSHA 10 Hour Safety, MDE
  • Responsible Personnel "White Card",
  • MDOT SHA Erosion & Sediment Control "Yellow Card",
  • ACI Concrete Field Technician Grade 1 Certification, MARTCP Soils and Aggregate Compaction Technician,
  • MARTCP HMA Field Technician, MARTCP Pavement Markings Technician,
  • MDOT SHA Traffic Control Manager Certification, and/or other certifications as required by project assignment.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and have a reliable vehicle.

Additional Required Attributes:

  • Looking for tech savvy team players with strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software (Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer), Apple iOS, Adobe / Bluebeam PDF manipulation

Preferred Attributes:

Previous construction experience including laborers, foreman, quality control / quality assurance inspection, previous supervisory experience,

Past DOT experience, or candidates already holding applicable certifications described above or hold CCM / CMIT certifications.

TARGET PAY RANGE: $20 - $30 (per hour)
