Job Description:

We are seeking a bright, trend-savvy, and detail-oriented Senior Graphic Designer to lead the charge on packaging design that's as thoughtful as it is beautiful. This role blends creative vision with execution developing elevated brand and packaging design that resonates with our customers and retailers.

As a key member of our growing creative team, you'll bring concepts to life through innovative products and packaging design, while ensuring every detail from dyelines to materials is executed flawlessly.

You'll work directly with the CEO and collaborate closely with founders, brand strategists, and cross functional teams to bring new products to market that align with our client's aesthetic, quality, and strategic vision.

This is a full-time, on-site position based at our corporate headquarters in Libertyville, IL.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead design development from concept through final production, creating packaging, PDQs, and product branding that reflects our brand identity and delight consumers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define goals, align creative strategies, and manage project timelines for each launch.
  • Direct creative ideation through mood boards, trend decks, and storytelling concepts that inspire both internal and client presentations.
  • Manage vendor relationships, dyelines, material selections, proofing, and prototype reviews to ensure high-quality, print-ready results delivered on time and within budget.
  • Prepare final artwork files for production across multiple product categories and ensure accuracy in all design deliverables.
  • Evolve our brand identity create and maintain style guides, define CMF (color, material, finish) standards and build reusable design libraries.
  • Manage and mentor freelance designers, photographers, stylists, and associate creatives.
  • Support corporate and marketing design needs, including trade show displays, promotional kits, and gifting programs.
  • Stay ahead of consumer, packaging, and CMF trends to drive innovation and relevance in every design touchpoint.
  • Maintain organized files, version control, and project archives for efficient collaboration and reference.

Requirements Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Marketing, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • 6-8 years of professional design experience in packaging, branding, or product design for CPG, lifestyle, home, or beauty brands.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing best-in-class packaging and brand identity work.
  • Expert-level Adobe Creative Cloud skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • In-depth understanding of print production processes, materials, dyelines, proofing, and vendor management.
  • Strong foundation in typography, layout, and color theory.
  • Experience with project management tools and version control systems.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communicator and presenter; able to articulate design concepts clearly to both creative and non-creative audiences.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Proficiency in both Mac and PC environments, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Passionate about trends and marketing with relations to the fragrance/beauty industry.
