Job description

OnKure is looking for an experienced project manager to join our team. Collaborating closely with Research & Development, CMC, and Clinical colleagues, the Director (or Senior Director, dependent on experience), Project Management will serve as the cross-functional team lead responsible for project management of an OnKure development program.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Manage at least one asset-specific project, working vertically, horizontally, and cross-functionally to achieve goals and set realistic timelines
  • Serve as product development team lead
  • Lead and coordinate project team meetings, ensuring alignment and communication between working groups
  • Establish and maintain project timelines, coordinating with appropriate Discovery, CMC, Legal, Quality, Development, Regulatory, Finance, and Business Development stakeholders
  • Ensure project status, team activities, and decisions made are properly communicated, documented, and archived
  • Regularly communicate project updates to Executive Leadership
  • Proactively identify project risks, preparing plans for mitigation and contingencies
  • Manage cross-functional resources, timelines, and budget to ensure success
  • Provide project management for business development projects and academic collaborations
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, CROs, academic collaborators, and KOLs as needed to ensure goals and timelines are met
  • Demonstrate an ability to gain a technical working knowledge of the activities relevant to specific project domains
  • Collaborate with project management team to identify process improvements and ensure consistency across programs

Preferred Experience and Qualifications: 

  • BS/MS/PhD or equivalent in chemistry, biology, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years’ experience project management in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, with 5+ years of oncology and/or rare disease project management experience preferred
  • Senior Director:12+ years of experience
  • PMP Certification or Project Management training from an accredited program preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate scientific and technical concepts to a broad audience
  • Demonstrated ability to implement structure on a cross-functional team to increase team efficiency
  • Strong communication skills, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • A desire to continue to learn and to jump in where needed at a small, growing organization
