Job Summary

College Medical Center Phoenix Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is seeking an Outpatient Registered Nurse to support our expanding PHP services. A nursing degree/diploma from an accredited school is highly preferred. The Outpatient RN must have a minimum of one year of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing within an outpatient setting and the skills to provide care to PHP clients. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing PHP program.

Qualifications:

  • Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (degree or diploma).

  • Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing, preferably in an outpatient setting.

  • Proficiency in timely admissions processing, documentation, and executing provider orders.

  • Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.

  • Experience with milieu safety and basic nursing procedures (vital signs, medications, injections).

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

  • Strong communication, assessment, and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior outpatient PHP/IOP experience.

  • Additional certifications in psychiatric/behavioral health or crisis prevention/de-escalation.

Job-Specific Duties:

  • Provide and direct patient care in an outpatient PHP setting.

  • Perform basic nursing procedures: vital signs, medication administration, and injections.

  • Process admissions in a timely manner, including patient interview, data collection, and analysis.

  • Document accurately and promptly; carry out physician/psychiatrist orders.

  • Monitor for changes in patient condition and promptly notify the psychiatrist.

  • Maintain safety within the milieu; support therapeutic environment and de-escalation.

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and safety.

  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team (nursing, psychiatry, therapy, case management).

  • Deliver professional, customer-focused service while ensuring patient comfort and protection.

  • Apply psychiatric mental health nursing principles and best practices.
