As a Medical Assistant/Allergy Tech your responsibilities typically involve a combination of administrative and clinical tasks. Here's a detailed job description:

Administrative Duties:

  1. Medication Prior Authorization Management: Obtain authorizations for medications and assist patients with insurance-related inquiries.
  2. Medical Records Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date medical records, including filing, scanning, and retrieving documents as needed.
  3. Billing and Coding: Assist with billing processes, including coding procedures and services accurately to ensure proper reimbursement.
  4. Supply Management: Monitor inventory levels of medical and office supplies, restock as needed, and coordinate supply orders with the administrative team.
  5. Communication: Facilitate communication between patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers, both in person and over the phone.
  6. Additional Duties: Any additional tasks/duties as assigned to you by providers or management.

Clinical Duties:

  1. Patient Preparation: Escort patients to examination rooms, obtain vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, etc.), enter medical and medication history, and prepare patients for procedures or examinations.
