The Bronx STEAM Center is an innovative educational hub where high school juniors and seniors from 10 schools step out of their traditional classrooms to focus entirely on hands-on, career-ready training. We bridge the gap between high school and the professional world, giving students the skills they need to thrive.

The Role

As our Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Instructor, you will lead two daily, 2.5-hour classes. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Teaching Healthcare Foundations: Introduce enthusiastic 11th graders to basic healthcare concepts, professional skills, and career paths.
  • Preparing Seniors for the Administrative and Clinical Medical Assisting Exam: Guide 12th graders through the state-required curriculum to get them certified.

You don't need a teaching certificate to apply—we value your real-world medical expertise above all else. We are looking for:

  • Applicants must possess in-depth, comprehensive, and appropriate work experience in both office and clinical medical assisting duties.
  • Relevant experience includes tasks such as managing patient records, billing, scheduling, and assisting with clinical procedures in a healthcare setting.
  • A desire to teach, coach, and support high school students as they launch their medical careers.
