NOTE: This role is hybrid and requires 3 days a week onsite in our Walnut Creek, CA office.
Our Manager, Marketing Platform Operations will lead a specialized team responsible for the operational execution of our digital marketing tech stack. This role is strictly a technical and operational. You and your team will not be responsible for creative development, copywriting, or front-end asset design. Instead, your team will be the technical backbone that empowers our marketing teams, ensuring the platforms, data, and integrations are flawlessly executed so those creative assets can reach the right customer, at the right time, with perfect measurement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Strategic Leadership & Cross-Functional Consultation
    • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and guide a team of marketing operations professionals focused on technical execution and platform management.
    • Cross-Functional Consultation: Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert for Product Marketers. Provide guidance on digital capabilities, third-party tool utilization, and integration strategies to solve complex marketing needs.
  • Data Infrastructure, Analytics & Quality
    • Analytics & Conversion Tagging: Own the tagging infrastructure using Tealium iQ. Ensure all digital properties are comprehensively tagged with highly accurate data layer attributes for Google Analytics. Implement precise, well-attributed conversion tagging to support and measure marketing campaigns effectively.
    • Marketing Data Operations & Quality: Audit, review, and analyze both server-side and client-side event data to guarantee accuracy and consistency. Map and correlate marketing data to build a unified, accurate view of the customer journey and attribution.
  • Platform Activation & Media Operations
    • Personalization & Activation: Architect and build personalized user experiences utilizing Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization. Activate audiences, segments, and attributes to third-party data platforms using Salesforce Data Cloud.
    • Paid Media Support & Configuration: Oversee the technical setup, onboarding, and configuration of new paid media platforms and advertising accounts (including Google Campaign Manager, CM360, SA360, and various social media ad accounts).

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
  • Database Skills: Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries for data analysis, extraction, and validation.
  • Salesforce Ecosystem: Strong working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization and Data Cloud.
  • Tag Management: Hands-on expertise with Enterprise Tag Management systems (specifically Tealium iQ).
  • Ad-Tech Knowledge: Deep understanding of digital advertising platforms (Google CM360, SA360, Meta, etc.).
  • Data Architecture: Strong comprehension of data layers, server-side vs. client-side tracking, and overall data architecture.

EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or combination of education and relevant experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience directly managing and leading technical teams, preferably within the marketing technology or marketing operations space

  • Preferred Qualifications
    • A Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant Certification
