Job description

  • Position Summary
    • The Lead, Certified Athletic Trainer will oversee the delivery of sports medicine coverage, services and injury care at assigned high schools, colleges, universities, club sport teams, organization and/or special events. Evaluates,advises and treat individuals to assist with recovery from or avoid athletic related injuries.
  • Education
    • Bachlelor's Degree - Required
  • Experience
    • 3-5 Years - Preferred
    • Must be able to travel with athletic teams to be available at sporting events. Must be able to work independently and be self directed.
  • License & Certification
    • Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC)- Required
    • Must be Georgia Licensed or eligible through GA Secretary of State
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
  • Core Job Functions
    • Instruct coaches, athletes and parents in the car and prevention of athletic injuries. Advise athletes on the proper use of equipment.               
    • Evaluate athletes' readiness to play and provide participation clearances when applicable. Apply protective or injury preventive devices as warranted.  
    • Assess and report the progress of recovering athletes to coaches or physicians. Complete timely documentation to support skilled services delivered and billing.  Conducts initial assessment of injury to provide emergency or continued are.  Effectively handle urgent/emergency situations while maintaining quality of service.              
    • Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation program for athlete. Assess and report the progress of recovering athletes to coaches or physicians. Submit to the therapist appropriate written reports of the patient's progress.          
    • Identify and participate in process improvement initiative that enhance work flow and improve the work environment.
