Job Title: CL NEUROPHYSIOLOGY TECH I

Job Summary: The Clinical Neurophysiology (CNP) Technologist is a multi-skilled professional responsible for performing EEGs (including on-call rotation), Evoked Potentials, Autonomic, and Nerve Conduction Studies. Responsibilities include patient preparation, data acquisition, and ensuring a safe testing environment. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and adapt quickly. The technologist supports patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and other inpatient settings, monitors and maintains EEG recordings, responds to seizures, troubleshoots equipment, assists with SPECT injections, and provides shift reports. Acting as a liaison between nurses and physicians, the technologist ensures effective communication and collaboration to support patient care. Additionally, the technologist mentors student technologists rotating through the inpatient practice.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an associateโ€™s degree in Applied Science or related science (not required for those hired before 2013).
  • Current Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist, Clinical Neurophysiology Technologist graduate, or current CNT student.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • EEG or CLTM registry required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Competency in neurodiagnostic procedural testing, including electrode application for adult and pediatric EEGs using the standard 10-20 or 10-10 systems.
  • Experience in monitoring and maintaining EEG recordings for surgical, adult, and pediatric patients.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with above-average communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
