Position Summary:
Post Operation (CLT) Supervisor plays a key role in the manufacturing and production process here at Sterling. Supervisors are required to guide, train, and oversee all CLT Post Operation line operators as well as monitor overall production. Safety is of primary importance and the supervisor is required to know all risks, hazards, and rules pertaining to safety on the Post Operation CLT line and within Sterling facilities and monitor each employee’s continued adherence to company policies.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does have supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Review and understand each Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
  • Wear the appropriate PPE described in the JSA.
  • Perform the work consistent with the Standard Work analysis and the JSA.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to employees on all aspects of the CLT Line operations.
  • Lead training of new employees including but not limited to line safety, operations, and over all Sterling policies.
  • Encourage, train, and challenge existing employees to improve skills and overall contribution to high production.
  • Evaluate employee performance continually and conduct performance reviews.
  • Manage, enforce, and communicate employee relations issues according to company policy. Implement disciplinary notices/write-ups when necessary, involving management when appropriate.
  • Manage employee schedules including but not limited to approving and tracking time off, absenteeism, and timecards.
  • Maintain and assist with developing safe work practices using JSA’s to document, communicate, and train on Safety.
  • Guide and develop change-over techniques and practices to achieve world class uptime.
  • Assist with the performance of root cause analysis on product or equipment failures and put in place countermeasures to eliminate or minimize future occurrence.
  • Work closely, and collaborate with the CLT production line supervisor and Quality Technician to surface problems with methods, techniques, and equipment with the objective of continuously improving our people, processes, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Organization of inventory (parts, supplies, tools) and personal tools to ensure optimum efficiency of the workforce.
  • Work to maintain balanced work content (flow) between departments and operations.
  • Assist leadership with the measurement of daily performance and productivity.
  • Delegate work on various positions on the line (up to 20 line positions on the Planer and CLT lines) .
  • Perform various quality checks as required and site walkthroughs regularly to promote a safe work environment.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Highschool graduate, GED or equivalent relevant experience is required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict resolution.
  • Previous production/warehouse experience and fork-lift preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).

Full-time annual salary $57,000 - $67,000 dependent upon experience, and qualifications.
