Point of Care Laboratory Technician (LVN / MLT / CLS)

Location: San Leandro, CA
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Pay: $26.00 – $32.00/hour
Shift: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM

Job Overview

A leading mobile healthcare diagnostics provider is hiring a Point of Care Laboratory Technician to perform waived laboratory testing in a mobile/remote setting. This role involves specimen collection, laboratory testing, quality control, and accurate reporting of patient results while ensuring compliance with laboratory standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform waived laboratory testing including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Molecular, and Coagulation.
  • Collect blood specimens through venipuncture and capillary draws.
  • Receive and process specimens from phlebotomists and couriers.
  • Enter patient demographics, test orders, and results into the laboratory information system.
  • Perform quality control checks and maintain QC documentation.
  • Verify abnormal results and notify supervisors of critical findings.
  • Maintain laboratory instruments and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Monitor STAT testing turnaround times.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies.
  • Follow all laboratory safety protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Operate the company van when required.

Requirements

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) in California (Required)
  • No Phlebotomists (not eligible for this position)
  • Valid California Driver's License with a good driving record
  • Familiarity with laboratory workflow and testing procedures
  • Previous phlebotomy and laboratory testing experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption
