Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Laboratory Supervisor, you will oversee our clinical laboratory operations. The Laboratory Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality laboratory services to support patient care within our hospital.

Every day, you will manage and supervise the daily operations of the hospital laboratory, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow coordination. 

To be successful in this role, you will oversee a team of laboratory technologists and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate with other departments, physicians, and nursing staff to prioritize and fulfill laboratory testing requests promptly.
  • Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and oversee equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • Implement and maintain laboratory information systems (LIS) to streamline laboratory processes and data management.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new laboratory tests and procedures.
  • Serve as a resource for laboratory staff, providing technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
Job Requirements

Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA requirements.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Laboratory Services experience in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science.
  • One year of experience as a supervisor or higher. 
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or equivalent required.
  • MTA license required 
  • Fire Safety Card required. (Must obtain within 90 days of start date.)
