About the Role (Job Summary):

The Clinical Systems Integration Manager is a leadership role responsible for managing integration projects that connect clinical systems, laboratory information systems (LIS), and electronic health records (EHR). This position requires strong technical integration skills combined with deep knowledge of clinical laboratory terminology and workflows to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient data exchange across healthcare platforms.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

Integration Leadership

  • Manage end-to-end integration projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Create detailed functional requirements for integration solutions based on clinical and technical needs.

  • Oversee success criteria for integrations, ensuring solutions meet clinical, technical, and compliance standards.

Clinical Expertise

  • Apply knowledge of clinical lab terminology, test codes, and workflows to support accurate data mapping and interoperability.

  • Validate laboratory data integrity during migrations and interface implementations.

Team Management

  • Lead and mentor integration analysts and specialists, providing guidance on technical and clinical aspects of integration.

  • Allocate resources and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary liaison between clinical teams, IT, and vendors to translate clinical requirements into technical solutions.

  • Conduct workshops and training sessions for stakeholders on integration processes and standards.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all integrations comply with HIPAA, CLIA, and organizational security standards.

  • Monitor integration performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain operational continuity.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of integration workflows, data mappings, and system configurations.

  • Provide regular status reports and KPIs to leadership.

Basic Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 6+ years of professional experience and 0-2 years of supervisory experience.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Clinical Laboratory Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Certification in healthcare integration standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) preferred.

Critical Skills/Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in healthcare IT or clinical system integration.

  • Minimum 1 year of leadership experience managing teams or projects.

  • Strong understanding of clinical laboratory terminology, CPT codes, LOINC, and lab workflows.

  • Hands-on experience with LIS, EHR systems, and integration engines (e.g., Cloverleaf, Mirth).

  • Proficiency in HL7, FHIR, and healthcare interoperability standards.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Familiarity with laboratory compliance standards (CLIA, CAP).

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex integration projects.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare technology environment.
