Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Working under general supervision of the Project Manager, Interface Analyst Specialist, or the Director develops, tests, implements, and supports clinical and administrative data interfaces between Epic and ancillary systems, both internal and external. The Senior Interface Analyst is part of a team that is accountable for production support (including on-call duties in a 24X7 environment) as well as new projects to improve integration between Epic and other systems. The ideal candidate will have experience using technical analytical skills to seek out, research and evaluate a variety of solutions to provide clients with high quality, efficient workflows that promote efficiency and enterprise-wide standardization. The ideal candidate will also understand design and development principles as they relate to interfaces and may include but are not limited to data flow diagrams, data element dictionaries, file mappings, field layouts and command level operations. He or she will also possess Epic Bridges 2012 certification (or higher), Cloverleaf Level II certification, Cloverleaf version 5.8 or higher experience (including TCL usage) in a Unix/AIX environment, and Epic Bridges experience.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information systems/processing/clinical/engineering with emphasis on analysis/design/process required. 
  • Five (5) years of related application maintenance/development of system integration in a healthcare environment will be considered in lieu of degree requirement (in addition to below experience requirement).
  • Seven (7) years of applicable work experience required; five (5) years applicable experience in a healthcare setting preferred. 
  • Expertise with healthcare industry standard messaging formats (e.g., HL7, XML, ANSI x12). 
  • Experience/exposure to the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). 
  • Current Certification on Epic Bridges (May hire into position without certification but must attain certification within the first 6 months of hire to continue employment). 
  • Certification on Cloverleaf interface engine (version 20.1 or higher) (May hire into position without certification but must attain certification within the first 6 months of hire to continue employment). 
  • Experience on at least two (2) major system implementations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated working knowledge of medical terminology.
