The Cloud Architect is responsible for defining and governing enterprise cloud architecture, standards, and best practices with a primary focus on AWS. This role provides technical leadership across cloud platforms, helping design secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions while supporting hybrid and multi-cloud environments where business requirements dictate. The Cloud Architect partners with infrastructure, cybersecurity, application development, and business stakeholders to develop cloud strategies, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps.


  • Ability to lead and motivate technical team members
  • Deep technical knowledge of AWS and experience designing enterprise cloud solutions. Experience with Azure, GCP, or other hyperscale cloud providers is highly desirable.
  • Good presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with audiences
  • Work experience should involve support, risk management, solution design, project envisioning, planning, development, deployment, and management.
  • Develop cloud strategies, reference architectures, governance standards, and technology roadmaps across AWS and other cloud platforms, including hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Evaluate and recommend AWS, Azure, GCP, and third-party cloud services based on business, security, operational, and financial requirements.
  • Design cloud solutions that support interoperability across multiple cloud providers when appropriate.
  • Influence and drive cloud related capabilities solutions and opportunities in coordination with engineering operations and application development teams
  • Translate business and technology requirements into architected technical solutions using cloud or internal technology offerings as appropriate.
  • Design and govern AWS Landing Zones, account structures, networking architecture, security controls, and operational standards using AWS best practices and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Migrate complex, multi-tier applications on AWS.
  • Implementing DevOps practices such as IaC (infrastructure as code), continuous integration and automated deployment.
  • Develop cloud cost optimization strategies and governance processes leveraging AWS Cost Explorer, budgeting tools, and FinOps best practices.

  • Continuously review existing tech stack and suggest improvements and upgrades.

  • 5+ years’ experience with architecting solutions on the AWS platform.  Azure experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Azure, GCP, or other public cloud platforms strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud environments is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience as an AWS Cloud Architect / Engineer or similar role.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing and AWS products and services.
  • Experience in designing and deploying architecture on the AWS platform.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation technologies including Terraform, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps, or equivalent CI/CD platforms.
  • Experience with full Microsoft stack including AD, DHCP, DNS, DFS Namespace, Windows Servers.  Experience with Linux servers a plus.
  • Good understanding of networking solutions including Load Balancer, WAF, GSLB.  SD-WAN experience a plus.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • AWS IT certifications a plus
