Details:
Cloud Solutions Architect
Location: Houston TX - Onsite 3x week
Duration: Full time / Direct Hire
As a Cloud Solutions Architect you will be responsible for defining and communicating cloud strategy, patterns/principles, and establishing cloud readiness criteria while assisting teams in mapping, transforming, and migrating products to the most appropriate cloud architecture. Identify and implement the top cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the company.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Drive the creation of Cloud migration & transformation strategy and infrastructure roadmaps/journeys across application, information, business, and technology landscapes.
  • Drive holistic design & patterns/principles for secure cloud application environments, cloud platform enhancements, application architecture, and cloud service integrations. Focusing on standards, guidelines, principles, and guardrail toolsets to ensure compliance, quality, and security of delivered codebase.
  • Establish pilots and POCs for proposed solutions and make recommendations for approvals.
  • Create the capabilities required to utilize automation practices for initializing, provisioning, and optimizing systems, and facilitate infrastructure orchestration - embracing self-service and autonomy.
  • Identify and analyze architecture gaps to propose new technologies.
  • Solution and implement all aspects of Cloud service models and application delivery such as PaaS, Serverless and Containerization infrastructure.
  • Document best practices and recommendations and create and maintain templates and standards.
  • Create and implement DevSecOps, support, maintenance and governance practices and processes for the Cloud Platform.
  • Partner with Development teams, CyberSecurity, Infrastructure teams to deliver and maintain a cloud platform.
  • Ensure systems and applications have efficient and actionable monitoring with SLO aligned with business goals.
  • Engage with external vendors to review solutions, new capabilities and products, and service offerings.

Experience:
  • 4-5 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in designing and configuring secure and scalable cloud platforms patterns on Azure
  • Deep understanding of cloud design patterns, Cloud Native Architecture and principles, cloud operations, and cloud security models
  • Proven and demonstrable experience in architecting, designing, and implementing high volume, high availability cloud applications with a very high degree of automation
  • Proven ability to maintain both a strategic long-term outlook and enterprise perspective, while also supporting tangible, business-driven, and IT-delivered solutions
  • Strong programming skills with experience in API and .NET, Node.js, SQL, Postgres,, Angular, PowerShell, AKS, EKS, Kubernetes, Postman, JMeter, Load Runner
  • Experience with offshore and contract development teams

Credentials:
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred)

Knowledge and Skills:
  • In-Depth knowledge of cloud services: Application integration, functions, Cloud Databases, Developer Tools, Security and identity management
  • Demonstrated ability to easily deal with both abstract and concrete concepts and be able to reconcile them for the appropriate audience and context
  • Quickly understand organizational dynamics and management priorities, and to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-driven company.
  • Demonstrate strong facilitation, negotiation, interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead an in-depth client meeting/workshop across a broad range of topics including discovery, cloud compliance, and security
  • A critical thinker with strong research, analytics, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and an ability to work independently and or in a team
  • Ability to communicate across business units and the ability to interface with and communicate complex technical concepts to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple streams and lead less experienced architects
