Job description

Job Summary:
Nightwing is a company that provides advanced cyber, data operations, and intelligence mission support services. They are seeking Cloud Platform Engineers to develop and improve their network and server/application infrastructure in AWS GovCloud and Azure, focusing on building secure and scalable cloud environments.
Responsibilities:
• Use and develop automation (Ansible roles, Terraform modules, Packer, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, AWS CLI) to provision and configure servers, services, applications, and security controls.
• Setup and maintain applications in AWS GovCloud and commercial, utilizing Dev/Production environments
• Manage AWS specific resources much as VPCs, EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Control Tower, and LZA
• Lead technical projects, working with team members and inter-departmental groups to plan, execute, and deliver new features or capabilities
• Follow best practices for disaster recovery/business continuity in server, network, and security design
• Manage Linux and Windows servers, following best practices for logging, monitoring, and system maintenance
• Provide expertise and support for IT Operational management of security monitoring, compliance, and auditing tools
Qualifications:
Required:
• 6 Years of Experience in IT (Operations, Security, or Development), or DevOps
• 4+ Years of experience with Linux System Administration
• Familiar with Windows System Administration
• 1+ Years of experience with networking (TCP/IP, switching, routers, firewalls, etc)
• 1+ Years of experience running services within AWS or another cloud provider (Azure, etc)
• Architecting new services using AWS resources
• Troubleshooting resources (Load balancers, Autoscaling groups, security groups)
• Familiarity with IAC automation and configuration management tools to manage and deploy servers and applications (Ansible, Terraform, Cloudformation, Packer, Python, Bash, Powershell, etc)
• Familiarity with source code management of any code/scripts/documentation used for automation (git, GitLab, BitBucket)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong sense of accountability to meet work deadlines and support sprint goals
• Must be a U.S Citizen
Preferred:
• Experience developing automated solutions utilizing docker-compose and Helm
• Familiarity with multi-account AWS architecture (Organizations, Control Tower)
• Familiarity with multi-account Microsoft Azure (Sovereign Cloud Architecture)
• Experience working with containerized applications using Docker and/or Kubernetes
• Experience developing CI/CD pipelines for delivery and testing of services/applications
• Experience within AWS GovCloud
• Professional Certifications such as: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, Linux+, Security+, CCNA
• Required Education Bachelor of Science Degree in a related engineering field; OR 6 additional years of Engineering, Computer or Information Science applicable professional experience in lieu of degree.
