Job Responsibilities

Job Duties -

"- Infrastructure Management: Architect, deploy, and administer Dell EMC NAS platforms (primarily PowerScale/Isilon, Unity, and PowerStore) and Object Storage platforms (ECS and ObjectScale).

- Provisioning & Allocation: Manage storage provisioning, tiering, and capacity planning for massive volumes of unstructured data across file (NFS, SMB/CIFS) and object (S3, Swift) protocols.

- Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and perform tuning on OneFS and ECS environments to ensure optimal data throughput and low latency.

- Data Protection & Disaster Recovery: Design and maintain disaster recovery solutions using native replication tools (e.g., SyncIQ, ECS Geo-Replication). Manage snapshots, NDMP backups, and integration with Data Domain (PowerProtect DD).

- Lifecycle Management: Plan and execute non-disruptive hardware scaling, node additions, and OS/firmware upgrades (e.g., OneFS upgrades).

- Security & Compliance: Implement and manage access controls, Active Directory/LDAP integration, SmartQuotas, RBAC, and data encryption (Data at Rest/Data in Flight) to meet security and compliance standards.

- Automation: Develop scripts and automation workflows (using Python, Ansible, or REST APIs) to streamline repetitive storage provisioning, reporting, and management tasks.

- Troubleshooting: Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex NAS and Object storage incidents. Work closely with Dell EMC vendor support to resolve hardware and software issues.

- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed architecture diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and operational runbooks.
