Riverside Research is seeking a full-time Enterprise Storage Architect to support the National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. This position will lead the strategy, architecture, and modernization of enterprise storage platforms across on-premises cloud and multi-cloud environments. This role focuses on designing resilient, scalable, and high-performance storage systems that support mission-critical applications and long-term infrastructure transformation. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise across storage technologies, strong architectural thinking, and the ability to influence decisions across engineering, networking, cloud, and cybersecurity teams.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain enterprise storage strategy and multi-year technology roadmaps.
  • Architect scalable storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, object storage, cloud storage, and high-performance/low-latency environments.
  • Lead storage modernization initiatives involving automation, replication, disaster recovery, data lifecycle management, and multi-cloud migration readiness.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, platforms, and vendors (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Partner with network engineering to ensure storage performance, connectivity, and fabric design align with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity to ensure data protection, encryption, retention, and compliance standards are met.
  • Perform capacity planning, performance analysis, and scalability assessments across diverse storage environments.
  • Oversee implementation of storage architectures, standards, and operational best practices.
  • Provide expertise in data protection platforms, snapshot lifecycle, replication, DR/BC planning, and backup architectures.
  • Create and present strategic plans, technical recommendations, and operational impacts to leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Top Secret clearance with SCI adjudication
  • Experience in DoW/IC regulated environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise storage engineering, architecture, or infrastructure strategy.
  • Expert-level proficiency with SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, NFS/SMB, object storage, and storage networking.
  • Strong experience with major storage platforms (NetApp ONTAP, Dell EMC Power Store/Isilon, Pure Flash Array, HPE 3PAR/Nimble, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud storage services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and multi-cloud architectures.
  • Proficient in replication technologies, disaster recovery strategies, and data protection frameworks.
  • Ability to lead architecture planning, technology evaluations, and long-term strategy development.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as NetApp NCIE/NCDA, Dell EMC Proven Professional, Pure Storage Expert, AWS/Azure cloud certs, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with storage automation tools (Ansible, Python-based management, REST APIs).
