Job description

Nightwing provides technically advanced full-spectrum cyber, data operations, systems integration and intelligence mission support services to meet our customers' most demanding challenges. Our capabilities include cyber space operations, cyber defense and resiliency, vulnerability research, ubiquitous technical surveillance, data intelligence, lifecycle mission enablement, and software modernization. Nightwing brings disruptive technologies, agility, and competitive offerings to customers in the intelligence community, defense, civil, and commercial markets.


Nightwing is supporting a U.S. Government customer to provide support for onsite incident response to civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners who experience cyber-attacks, providing immediate investigation and resolution. Contract personnel perform investigations to characterize of the severity of breaches, develop mitigation plans, and assist with the restoration of services. Nightwing is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) experience to join our O&M team. This role will be responsible for the design, implementation and testing of cloud-based infrastructure and services, migrating existing infrastructure from on-prem to the cloud, with a focus on Red Hat-based systems across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

- Design, deploy, and test scalable, secure cloud infrastructure using Red Hat technologies

- Implement and test IaaS/PaaS solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

- Automate provisioning and configuration using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Red Hat Satellite

- Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with security standards and policies

- Applying advanced analytical skills and technical resources at the tactical levels and implementing infrastructure solutions supporting command decision making and execution of mission requirements.

- Automate infrastructure tasks using Ansible, Terraform, or other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.

- Support the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the lab environment.

- Stay up-to-date with OpenShift and Kubernetes advancements, providing recommendations for improvements

- Examine and identify efficiencies that can be made to existing procedures, with approval from the customer.

Required Skills:

- U.S. Citizenship

- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance, TS/SCI clearance is preferred.

- Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability.

- 6+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, Linux Systems Engineer, or similar role.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

- Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.)

Desired Skills:

- Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or ArgoCD

- Strong knowledge of Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) administration

- Understanding of networking and security best practices in cloud environments

- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)

Required Education:

BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering or related degree or HS Diploma and 7+ years lab management or systems administration experience.

Desired Certifications:

- DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II


Salary & Benefits

The salary associated with this position ($122,000-$253,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
