Job description

Introduction
As an IBM Consulting FutureNow Center Intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to help solve real business and technology challenges for clients around the world. You'll gain hands-on experience, build in-demand technical and professional skills, and contribute to meaningful projects while learning in a collaborative, team-based environment.
This internship is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience that prepares students for a potential full-time career with IBM Consulting upon graduation.
In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
At IBM, you'll learn from experienced technology professionals while gaining hands-on experience with modern software development and consulting practices.
During your internship, you'll have opportunities to:
• Collaborate Across Teams: Learn from and work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and support technical solution discussions and project delivery.
• Support Solution Design & Documentation: Learn by contributing to technical documentation and participating in design discussions under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Contribute to High-Quality Software: Develop your skills by contributing code, participating in code reviews, and applying software quality practices with guidance from experienced developers.
• Develop AWS Cloud Applications: Gain hands-on experience by contributing to cloud-native and full-stack applications on Amazon Web Services, using technologies such as databases, operating systems, AWS cloud services, and modern UI frameworks while learning about user experience, performance, security, and quality.
As an intern in our AWS practice, you'll focus on learning and contributing to cloud-native application development, enterprise system modernization, automation, and scalable solutions using Amazon Web Services.
You don't need experience with every technology listed. Many interns join IBM with a foundation in computer science, software engineering, or related technical disciplines and develop specialized expertise through mentorship, structured learning, certifications, hands-on projects, and AI-enabled tools.
Throughout your internship, you'll gain exposure to software engineering, cloud technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), DevOps, Agile, and enterprise application development, while working with experienced engineers, architects, and technology professionals on real client projects across multiple industries.
We're not looking for experts; we hire for potential, curiosity, and a passion for learning.
High-performing interns may be considered for full-time Associate opportunities following graduation, based on business needs and individual performance.
To give yourself the best opportunity for success, we advise applying only to roles that align with your skills and experience, rather than applying broadly across all entry-level positions. You'll receive a status update email for each application, so be sure to check your IBM Careers account regularly - it's the best way to get a centralized view of which roles you have active applications against.
The primary internship program dates are May to July 2027 (10 weeks).
