As an IT FinOps Analyst, you will support cost visibility, allocation, and optimization practices across our cloud and AI environments, enabling teams to understand and manage the true cost of the technology they consume. In this role, you will help establish and mature our enterprise IT FinOps practice while translating cloud and AI usage data into actionable financial insights for IT, Finance, and business stakeholders. You will partner with leaders across the organization to improve financial accountability, optimize technology investments, and strengthen governance for cloud and AI services. As AI adoption accelerates across the business, you will help extend FinOps disciplines into AI and machine learning workloads by tracking token and compute consumption, identifying optimization opportunities, and supporting transparent showback practices. This is an exceptional opportunity to work at the intersection of cloud, artificial intelligence, and enterprise financial management while building expertise in one of the fastest-growing disciplines in technology. Key Responsibilities Monitor and report on cloud and AI/ML spend across environments, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost optimization Maintain and enforce the organization's tagging and cost allocation strategy across Project, Environment, Workload, Team, and Cost Center dimensions to ensure accurate showback reporting Prepare regular cost reports and dashboards that give engineering, finance, and business stakeholders visibility into usage patterns, efficiency, and spend trends Track key FinOps metrics such as cost per token, cost per inference, and resource utilization efficiency to support cost‐conscious decision‐making across AI and cloud workloads Review billing statements and usage data across cloud providers and AI platforms to catch discrepancies, anomalies, and untagged or misallocated resources Support the identification and execution of cost optimization opportunities, including rightsizing recommendations, reserved capacity and commitment tracking, and idle resource cleanup Partner with IT and platform teams to gather usage data, validate cost allocation, and follow up on optimization actions Assist in maintaining FinOps tooling, dashboards, and runbooks, ensuring data quality and reporting accuracy Support the Enterprise PMO by preparing cost and usage inputs for quarterly reviews and governance forums Help track licensing terms, commitment schedules, and contract renewals within FinOps dashboards Set up and monitor alerts for unusual increases in usage, such as GPU hours, API calls, or token consumption, that may indicate inefficient or runaway workloads Document FinOps processes, definitions, and best practices to support consistent cost management practices across teams Contribute to continuous improvement of FinOps reporting, automation, and governance processes Required Qualifications 6 to 8 years of experience in financial analysis, cloud operations, IT finance, or a related analytical role Experience working with AI cost and usage data, such as Anthropic or OpenAI, and billing and cost management tools Familiarity with cost allocation concepts such as tagging, showback, and chargeback models Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret usage and billing data and translate findings into clear, actionable insights Proficiency with spreadsheet and reporting tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or Tableau Working knowledge of SQL or similar technologies for accessing, querying, and analyzing usage and billing data Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to both technical and non‐technical stakeholders Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple reporting cycles and deadlines Ability to collaborate effectively across IT, Finance, and business teams Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Business, or a related field Preferred Qualifications FinOps Certified Practitioner (FinOps Foundation) certification or progress toward certification Experience monitoring or reporting on AI/ML or large language model workload costs, including token consumption, GPU utilization, or inference costs Familiarity with FinOps platforms such as CloudHealth, Apptio Cloudability, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or Google Cloud Billing Experience supporting Enterprise PMO or IT portfolio management reporting processes Basic scripting or automation experience, such as Python, to streamline recurring cost reporting Experience with cloud governance frameworks, budget monitoring, or anomaly detection practices Experience supporting cross‐functional stakeholders within a large global enterprise Compensation Compensation: This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
