ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Retail Associate plays a key role in providing excellent shopping experience by assisting customers with their purchases, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and supporting inventory management efforts. The individual in this position must be friendly, customer-focused, and have strong organizational skills.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  1. Provide excellent, knowledgeable and friendly service to all customers and staff
  2. Process payments accurately, handle cash and credit card transactions using point of sale system.
  3. Assist with quality control (including monitoring product freshness and appearance)
  4. Keep candy trays and containers filled and clean
  5. Arrive to work on time and when scheduled
  6. Assist with monthly inventory count/orders
  7. Stock retail freezer
  8. Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffee drinks, by operating espresso machines and other equipment.
  9. Efficiently serve ice cream and other frozen treats, including taking orders, scooping ice cream, preparing sundaes or milkshakes,
  10. Ability to work flexible schedule as assigned including weekends.
  11. Perform light janitorial duties
  12. Responsible for adhering to company policies as delineated in the Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Retail dress code 
  13. Obtain food handler's card. Enstrom Candies will provide certification 
  14. Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Skill and Ability: Ability to precisely follow recipes and produce consistent quality drinks. Ability to scoop ice cream. Ability to enter freezer with proper clothing. Follow directions and safety procedures; always maintain quality standards; work well within a team environment; fluency in written and spoken English; mathematical accuracy
  2. Tools, Equipment or Machinery Used: scale, point of sale machine, sealer, espresso machine, calculator
  3. Minimum Physical Requirements: stand for much of the day; lift up to 30 lbs; bend, stoop, climb, kneel, see, hear; handle or feel objects and tools, grasp, turn, raise arms above shoulder height
  4. Personal Qualities: quantity and accuracy; cooperation and reliability; initiative, alertness, judgment, cleanliness; efficient management of work time
  5. Risk of Personal Injury or Assault: Minimal, must follow safety procedures
