Job description

Position Summary
Work with the clothing production team to process all clothing from intake to sales floor, including, but not limited to: sorting, hanging, tagging, pricing and filling the sales floor.
Position Details
Full or part-time, hourly, non-exempt position
Reports to Store Manager
Primary Job Duties
  • Sorting: Process clothing donations, sorting into categories of clothing that meets Common Threads' sales floor standards, and separating clothing that doesn't meet standards for textile recycling.
  • Hanging and Boxing: Hang in-season clothing, as needed, to stock sales floor. Box off-season clothing and clothing not currently needed, for offsite storage.
  • Tagging and Pricing: Evaluate items for quality, condition and brand. Price based on established pricing guidelines.
  • Sales Floor: Stock clothing racks in a neat and organized manner.
  • Strive to meet established standards in daily clothing production metrics.
  • Ensure established guidelines and protocols for all clothing tasks are followed properly.
  • Fulfill shared responsibility with the team for cleaning the back room, breakroom, and restrooms.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of brands, trends, vintage, designer, and seasonal item is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Ability to work a weekend shift which is defined as any shift that includes closing the store on Friday evening through an open or closing shift on Saturday or Sunday.

Physical and Other Requirements
  • Ability to stand/walk and work consistently for short periods of time without sitting
  • Ability to walk, twist, pull, and push
  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds
  • NOTE: Sometimes production areas can be dusty due to indoor/outdoor traffic and nature of donated items and cleaning. Occasional work in outdoor or warehouse environment may be required

  • Starting at $12/hr, commensurate with experience
