They diagnose mechanical and electronic issues, clean and lubricate clock movements, replace worn parts, and ensure accurate timekeeping. Technicians often work in repair shops, jewelry stores, or independently. Strong attention to detail and knowledge of horology are essential for this role.

What does a clock repair technician do?

As a Clock Repair Technician, you can expect your days to involve diagnosing issues in various types of clocks—from antique grandfather clocks to modern wall clocks—disassembling components, cleaning parts, replacing or repairing worn mechanisms, and reassembling and testing the clocks for accuracy. You may also interact with customers to discuss repair needs, explain issues, and provide cost estimates. Technicians often work independently in workshops but may occasionally collaborate with team members or specialists for particularly complex projects. Staying organized and managing multiple repair jobs at once is common, making time management an important part of the role. This mix of hands-on mechanical work and customer interaction offers variety and satisfaction for those who enjoy precision craftsmanship.

Field Service Technician

Full-Time | Work from Home

Serving the Pacific Northwest Since 1977

For nearly 50 years, Olympic Hot Tub has been the region’s trusted name in hot tub and sauna sales, service, and care. We’re a company built on relationships — with our customers, our communities, and our team. When you join Olympic Hot Tub, you become part of that legacy.

A Company That Gives Back

Doing good is built into how we operate — not as an afterthought, but as part of our culture year-round.

Each April we select a local non-profit and donate a percentage of that month’s profits to their mission.

???? Founder’s Event — October

Every October we honor our roots by supporting local food banks in the communities we serve.

???? Charity: Water

A portion of every sale we make goes toward bringing clean drinking water to people around the world.

???? GSBA Scholarship Fund

As proud GSBA members, we contribute to scholarships supporting LGBTQ+ students in our community.

A Day in the Life

Your day starts from home — you’ll load up your company van and head out to customers’ homes to diagnose and repair hot tubs, saunas, covanas, and more. You’re the expert in the field; customers are counting on your knowledge to get their equipment running right. After initial training, you’ll work from home with everything provided: vehicle, phone, tablet, tools, and fuel card. All training hours — including ongoing CEU courses for your electrical license — are fully paid.

Why This Work Matters

Hot tubs and saunas aren’t luxuries for our customers — they’re part of how people manage pain, reduce stress, recover from injuries, and improve their quality of life. When a customer calls for service, they’re counting on you. Accurate, timely diagnosis and repair keeps those health benefits accessible, and you’re the critical piece that makes it happen.

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose and repair hot tubs, saunas, covanas, and related products at customers’ homes
  • Coordinate daily job routing and manage your schedule efficiently
  • Complete service orders accurately and thoroughly
  • Communicate clearly with customers about findings, diagnosis, and repairs needed
  • Work with customers to identify root causes of service issues
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for additional products and services
  • Complete all warranty paperwork on time and ship parts to manufacturers for warranty credit
  • Submit daily parts orders to the service manager to restock your van
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and stock levels in your service vehicle
  • Keep your Washington State electrical license current as required by law
  • Stay current on product knowledge through available training channels
  • Ensure your service vehicle is maintained at proper intervals

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid Washington State driver’s license — no more than one minor moving violation in the past three years
  • Current Washington State 07, 07B, 07D, or higher electrical license
  • Solid understanding of electrical circuit diagnosis and repair principles
  • 2–3 years of experience as a maintenance or appliance repair technician (or equivalent)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, thorough work
  • Ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and stay organized on the road
  • Great communication skills and a genuine desire to help customers

???? Electrical License Requirement: This position requires a current WA State specialty electrician’s license (07, 07B, 07D or higher). Olympic Hot Tub covers all required CEU courses to keep your license current — on the clock.

Benefits

  • Medical and Dental insurance plans
  • Two weeks paid vacation (increases with tenure)
  • Paid sick time
  • Eight paid holidays plus a floating anniversary day
  • Simple IRA with company match
  • Generous incentive plans rewarding great performance
  • Work from home after initial training period
  • Company vehicle, fuel card, phone, tablet, and all tools provided
  • Paid training and CEU courses for ongoing electrical licensing

Ready to Do Your Best Work?

If you’re a skilled technician who takes pride in solving problems and making customers’ days better — we’d love to meet you.
