POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Manager performs an integral role within the day-to-day scheduling, task coordination, reporting, escalation, and triage activities related to all OSP Engineering and Inspection related activities across LSCG.
The manager of project management will be the primary point of contact for project management activities and associated staff supporting our construction and maintenance activities. This is a high-visibility role working alongside existing LSCG senior management as well as our customer's field and network teams.
  • Provide leadership to dispersed project managers and coordinators across the organization, supporting both project/customer programs, as well as corporate initiatives within LSCG.
  • Support development of ongoing project production reporting, employing typical project management process/methodologies such as resource allocation, Gannt charts/Kanban, and RAID logs.
  • Support periodic project/program status meetings, tactical readouts, and impromptu collaborative discovery/problem solving sessions.
  • Act as the official custodian of project/program status; source of truth.
  • Support the development of project intake, management, and disposition processes across the organization.
  • Partner with internal peer teams in supporting project/business initiatives.
  • Develop daily, monthly, and quarterly performance reporting metrics that illustrate quantitative project success and highlight areas for improvement.
  • Manage, mentor/coach junior members of the team in project management process, procedures, and best practices.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to communicate effectively across functional areas and throughout all levels in the organization, including senior customer staff. Ability to understand the motivating factors of various constituencies (internal - cross-functional and external - customers/partners) and establish a working cadence in a manner that motivates all parties appropriately.
  • Prior management experience leading project managers/coordinators, in a telecommunications/cable/MSO or similar environment.
  • Prior experience in outside plant construction and/or network engineering.
  • Prior experience with RUS contracts and processes
  • Prior experience in project accounting/project financial performance.
  • Prior experience/knowledge in PMBOK methodology and processes.
  • PgMP, PMP, Prince2 or similar certification is a plus, though not required.
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively across matrix organizations.
  • Verifiable relationship management skills.
  • Strong initiative, comfortable with ambiguity and willingness to move outside of one's comfort zone.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in role, with Telecom/Cable/MSO or similar industry environment.
  • Above average skill level with MS Office suite of tools to such as, excel, word, MS project and MS Teams.

• Prior production experience using MS Project or other project management/efficiency tools such as JIRA, Confluence or similar is a plus.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
