Summary of Major Functions:ย 

Provide and maintain structure for Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program. Services include conducting groups, facilitating meals and meal processing documentation, and encouraging a therapeutic milieu.

Knowledge:

Must have a basic understanding of the therapeutic process that patients experience during program hours, understand confidentiality laws, and have a strong knowledge of professional ethics. Must be able to demonstrate leadership abilities and be able to work with persons from all educational and cultural backgrounds. Must demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, independent thinking, enthusiasm, and non-judgmental attitude.

Senior Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assisting Program Director in finding milieu coverage for groups and meals.
  2. Assisting Program Director in assigning MOD schedules and ensuring all duties, policies and procedures are carried out correctly.
  3. Provide individual therapy and POD groups when backup coverage is needed for Primary Clinicians.
  4. Create effective relationships and be the liaison with other departments in creating and improving work processes.
  5. Phone coverage (answering the phones, transferring calls) as assigned/needed
  6. Role Models appropriate compliance to all milieu tasks and adherence to policy and procedures
  7. Establishes and maintains presence and a collaborative relationship with both front and back half milieu staff.ย 
  8. Supports clinical leadership in the implementation of and adherence to rules, policies, and procedures.
  9. Participates in Mutli-Family Group rotation.
  10. Takes ownership, in collaboration with program director, for training of new milieu staff and students.

Milieu Duties and Responsibilities:ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 

  1. Demonstrates knowledge of and practice of effective counseling skills.
  2. Facilitates meals with patients in a fashion consistent with the treatment philosophy of EDCare; Models appropriate eating behaviors during assigned mealtimes with patients.
  3. Contributes clinical information and observations about patients in weekly staffing.
  4. Thoroughly integrates new patients into the program via orientation demonstrating knowledge of all aspects of the clinical program.
  5. Demonstrates ability to build therapeutic rapport while maintain professional boundaries.
  6. Facilitates groups with expertise, demonstrating ability to engage, set limits and monitor the group process.
  7. Maintains and develops group curriculum for psychoeducational groups according to EDCare clinical standards.
  8. Is creative in therapeutic interventions to maintain a safe, supportive, clinically sound milieu.
  9. Is present and available for patient requests and needs. Provides outreach to patients when necessary.
  10. Maintains daily program structure.
  11. Conducts check-ins and check-outs with patients.
  12. Facilitates therapeutic outings.
  13. Timely completion and accuracy of clinical paperwork: progress notes, group notes etc.
  14. Ensures completion of daily attendance sheet for billing purposes.
  15. Takes responsibility for opening and/or closing the facility.
  16. Maintains confidentiality of all patients.
  17. Other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Masterโ€™s degree in behavioral health field required.
  2. Actively pursuing Colorado licensure required. ย 
  3. CPR certification within the first 90 days required
  4. One year tenure at EDCare or equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities as determined by clinical management required.
  5. Minimum of six months experience working in therapeutic milieu preferred.
  6. Clinical conceptualization of the treatment of eating disorders and dual diagnosis preferred.
  7. Treatment orientation that align with that of EDCare preferred.
  8. Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills preferred

Computer Skills:

  1. Must be able to effectively maneuver within an office scheduling system.
  2. Minimum of intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  3. Must be able to efficiently learn and effectively work within an electronic medical records system.

Physical Demands and Environment:

Physical demands of this job include but are NOT limited to:

Sitting frequently, standing occasionally, walking occasionally, talking occasionally, hearing constantly, seeing constantly, reaching with arms and hands occasionally, crouching occasionally and using fingers intricately.ย  This position requires lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds occasionally.

Environmental conditions of this job include but are NOT limited to:

95% inside, 99% normal temperature and 99% normal noise as expected in a medical office environment.
