Job description

Staff Clinical Product Specialist

Role

The Staff Clinical Product Specialist will provide clinical leadership at the intersection of patient safety, clinical documentation, and AI-enabled product development. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, and clinical review teams, this leader will help ensure our solutions are clinically sound, our AI-generated clinical content is evaluated rigorously, and emerging risks are translated into clear product priorities.

This role will oversee key and human-in-the-loop initiatives, including AI error monitoring and root cause analysis, our Trust & Safety reviewer performance, clinical error taxonomy and severity definitions, and clinical evaluation of adversarial detection systems. The Senior Manager will also supervise clinical specialist work and help turn clinical findings into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.

**This role is fully remote within the US**

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership on clinical decisions related to Trust & Safety, error-detection modules, and root cause analysis.
  • Monitor errors in AI-generated clinical summaries and notes using human annotations, AI surveillance, and client feedback; quantify, categorize, and report trends to internal stakeholders.
  • Create and validate automated root cause analyses of AI errors and conduct manual root cause analysis when needed.
  • Collaborate with product teams to review error trends, define needed repairs, inform prioritization, and escalate urgent patient-safety risks.
  • Provide clinical leadership for SafeRead, our human-in-the-loop review system, with a focus on reviewer performance, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Support SafeRead operations as needed, including reviewer scheduling, hiring, special-project allocation, auditing, feedback, training, and onboarding.
  • Partner with Data Science, Data Analytics, and internal stakeholders to refine clinical error taxonomies and severity definitions for company solutions and client governance.
  • Collaborate with Data Science on clinical prompt engineering, testing, and optimization of AI adversarial-detection systems, including curation of gold-standard evaluation datasets.
  • Work closely with Associate Clinical Specialist across data collection and analysis, local prompt testing and validation, reviewer scheduling, and reviewer communications.
  • Support key Trust & Safety meetings and cross-functional collaboration, including relevant internal, marketing, and sales initiatives.

What You Bring

  • MD or DO, with at least 5 years of patient-care experience, including at least 2 years of inpatient care.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical documentation, patient safety, and healthcare quality.
  • Experience analyzing quality data and presenting findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate clinical risks into product requirements and prioritization recommendations.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience training, auditing, or supervising clinical staff or reviewers.
  • Familiarity with generative AI, machine-learning evaluation, or healthcare technology.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate, inspire, and work closely with team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience evaluating AI-generated clinical documentation.
  • Experience with clinical prompt engineering.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, business intelligence tools, or advanced spreadsheet analysis.
  • Certification or graduate training in patient safety, healthcare quality, clinical informatics, responsible AI, or data analytics.

Our Tech Stack

  • Generative AI and machine-learning evaluation workflows.
  • SafeRead and AI error-detection / surveillance systems.
  • SQL, Python, business intelligence tools, and advanced spreadsheet analysis, as applicable to the role.
Compensation
  • $250k to $260k base + bonus
