Job description

Founded in 1956, Dignity Health - Memorial Hospital is a 385-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Bakersfield, California. As our Clinical Lab Scientist Trainee, you will assit the Laboratory Supervisor.

Every day uou will be expected to performs moderate and high complexity testing in areas of Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology, Serology and Urinalysis following established laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis and result reporting for patient specimens.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate a strong scientific foundation, advanced technical proficiency, exceptional problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Your paramount commitment will be to accuracy and regulatory adherence


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university in Chemistry, Biology or a related field which meet the requirements of LFS.
  • Above average communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have medical terminology, basic computer terminology and data entry skills.
  • Approved for Clinical Laboratory Scientist training through the State of California and San Jose State University.
