Job description


Welcome to Grayson College. Welding Lab Assistant- Provides technical assistance to students either in a classroom or laboratory setting and assists with teaching students according to established policies and procedures under the supervision of the welding instructor.   
The rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.
 
 Responsibilities :
  • 60%    Provides group instruction and one-on-one tutoring; communicates and explains familiar and new concepts to students with diverse backgrounds and varying levels of welding skills.
  • 35%    Assists students in the use of equipment.
  • 5%      Keeps the lab clean and organized. 
Performance Measurements:

  2. Maintains an effective working relationship with students; serves as a positive role model.
  3. Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • One year work experience as a welder or welding degree/certificate required.
  • Previous experience as a teacher or lab assistant is preferred.
