Job description

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Lab Technician near Huntsville, AL.
Temp to Hire
Shift:
 Sunday - Thursday OR  Tuesday - Saturday 7:30am -3:30pm (training schedule will be M-F 6am-2pm)
Compensation: $20/hr
Duties and Responsibilities: 
    • Utilize test equipment and instrumentation to perform various tests and qualifications of various products to ensure that specifications are met 
    • Perform quality control testing 
    • Utilize test equipment and instrumentation to qualify raw material, in-process material, and finished powder for use in production 
    • Complete testing on R & D materials and projects 
    • Perform tests under strict procedure and guidelines and maintain test data 
    • Perform other reasonable and related duties as assigned

Equipment Used: A wide variety of testing equipment and instrumentation including: 
    • Analytical balances 
    • Microscope imaging systems, 
    • AA, XRF and DCP spectrometers 
    • Sedigraph and Malvern Particle distribution analyzers 
    • Physical testing apparatus. 
    • Carbon, Sulfur, Oxygen and Nitrogen analysis instrumentation. 
    • Microwave Digestion system 
    • Computer to include network and instrumentation software systems.

Skills/Knowledge Required: 
    • Knowledge of measuring and testing techniques 
    • Demonstrated advanced mathematical skills 
    • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office programs. 
    • Must be able to read at a technical level and follow written and verbal instructions. 
    • Computer literate with the ability to use various software programs. 
    • Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure in a demanding fast-paced environment

Experience Guidelines: 
    • Minimum of 1 year experience working in an industrial lab environment is strongly preferred. Metallurgical background a plus

Education Guidelines: 
    • High School diploma or GED with high school chemistry and algebra; college chemistry or physical science degree preferred
