The practice has over 60 providers, 15 sites and over 400 employees providing assessments and treatments for our rheumatology patients. We are seeking an ambitious, friendly, positive, and compassionate Clinical Research Systems Manager to join our Team. 

The Clinical Research Systems Manager reports to the Director of Clinical Research and is responsible for leading the research technology team and overseeing the design, implementation, maintenance, and quality of all clinical research technology systems across AARA Clinical Research. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • First-line manager (direct, supervise, and evaluate) for the Research Systems Administrator, Research Systems Quality Specialist, and Data Developer
  • Conduct training, mentorship, and professional development of research technology staff, ensuring their success
  • Assign tasks, projects, and priorities to ensure balanced workloads and timely deliverables across the team
  • Meet with direct reports regularly to review metrics, conduct team huddles, and provide ongoing performance feedback
  • Perform HR responsibilities including interviews, reviews, reprimands, and terminations
  • Maintain a professional, courteous, and supportive communication style with all team members, stakeholders, and end users, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Define and execute the strategic vision for clinical research technology systems, aligning with organizational goals and growth
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise clinical research technology systems including Advarra eSource/EDC, CTMS (Clinical Conductor), eRegulatory (Veeva SiteVault), Microsoft 365, Monday.com, and related platforms
  • Manage system quality, security, and privacy risks while ensuring ongoing compliance with protocols, SOPs, ICH-GCP, FDA requirements, contractual obligations, privacy laws, and HIPAA
  • Ensure all system builds, configurations, and integrations meet quality, security, and compliance standards before release
  • Ensure all analytics systems perform as expected, including metrics, dashboards, and operational reporting systems using SQL, Power Query, Power BI, and related analytics tools
  • Promote data integrity and quality standards among all system end users
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, regulatory, and administrative teams to translate organizational needs into easy-to-use technology solutions
  • Identify system gaps and inefficiencies, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to improve overall organizational performance 
  • Ensure ongoing provision of accurate training materials, guides, SOPs, and documentation for all electronic systems
  • Serve as the systems escalation point for customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Support audits, inspections, and monitoring activities related to electronic systems and data management
  • Stay current with emerging clinical research technologies, AI/automation tools, local and federal laws, internal policies, and industry best practices to drive innovation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Research

Requirements

Essential

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, or related field 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical research technology systems management or administration
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial protocols, electronic source, CTMS, regulatory, and project management systems architecture
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, ICH-GCP guidelines, network security, and HIPAA compliance
  • Excellent leadership, project management and communication skills
  • Able to travel up to 20% domestically
