Job description

Our client is developing next-generation robotic surgical technology leveraging AI and automation to improve clinical outcomes and procedural efficiency. They are initially focused within a specific surgical application, with a broader vision of expanding into a multi-application platform designed to play a central role in the operating room.


As a technology-driven healthcare company, they take a software-first approach that enables rapid product iteration and continuous improvement through real-world clinical feedback. The team works closely with physicians and hospital partners to refine workflows, usability, and system performance in live procedural environments.


They are seeking a Clinical Engineer to serve as a key bridge between the clinical environment and internal engineering/product teams. This individual will support case coverage, device setup and troubleshooting, physician training, and help translate real-time procedural feedback into actionable product insights. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on in the OR while collaborating closely with technical teams in a fast-paced startup environment.


Key Responsibilities:


Clinical & Procedural Support

  • Provide onsite clinical support during surgical procedures, including system setup, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization
  • Support physicians and hospital staff during device use and ensure successful case execution
  • Assist with installation, calibration, and preparation of systems prior to procedures
  • Travel to customer and clinical sites as needed for case support and training activities

Physician Training & Customer Support

  • Train physicians, clinical staff, and hospital personnel on device operation and procedural workflows
  • Serve as a trusted technical and clinical resource for customers
  • Support clinical education programs, workshops, and product demonstrations
  • Help identify opportunities to improve usability, workflow efficiency, and customer experience

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with R&D, engineering, and product teams to communicate procedural observations and user feedback
  • Translate physician and clinical feedback into actionable insights that help guide product improvements and future development
  • Support internal testing, product validation, and iterative development activities
  • Contribute to documentation and communication of field findings and performance observations

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience in a field clinical engineering, clinical specialist, or applications support role within medical devices or surgical technology
  • Comfortable working in operating room environments and supporting live procedures
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and engineering teams

Qualifications

Travel Requirements
