Job description

HCT seeks an experienced nursing professional to serve as the interim Clinical Nurse Educator, Labor & Delivery and Postpartum at a 24-bed intensive care unit, a birthing center with 51 rooms, an intensive care unit for babies with 12 beds, and an emergency department with 60 treatment bays in California.

Schedule: 08:00 AM to 16:30 PM (hours may vary based on program/training)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for clinical education and training programs to meet the learning and developmental needs of the clinical staff.
  • Designs, implements, and evaluates strategies to maintain clinical competency of care providers.
  • Adult learning knowledge required. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and group facilitator process skills.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of the California Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, Title 22, QA, BRN regulations.

Requirements:

  • Education: BSN required; MSN preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of L&D and Postpartum clinical educator experience Preferred experience: prefer a RN with at least 5-10 years of RN experience as well. That would be at least 3 years as an RN and 2 years as educator
  • License: Active California RN license required
  • Certifications: RNC-OB, RNC-MNN, or C-EFM and BLS through the American Heart Association
  • Computer Skills: EMR experience (EPIC preferred) and Microsoft Office suite (e.g., MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.)
