Support CenterIf you are a current Adventist HealthCare employee, please click this link to apply through your Workday account.Adventist HealthCare Support Center seeks to hire an experienced Clinical Documentation Manager who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Clinical Documentation Manager you will:
Responsible for initiating, influencing, and overseeing the effectiveness of the CDI program across the AHC system. Oversee and manage clinical documentation improvement with owning program leadership and daily operations activities, including productivity, quality, education, training, auditing, and performance improvement.
Manage full employee lifecycle with recruiting support, interviewing, selection, onboarding, orientation, competency validation, coaching, corrective action, and termination along with building and maintaining a repeatable onboarding program with 30/60/90-day plans, checklists, EHR/CDI tool training, query quality standards and escalation training with creating a culture of accountability, transparency and high reliability
Oversee daily operations of CDI team, tracks and analyzes program performance, and team productivity, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational goals, compliance with regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement. Support internal/external audits and denial prevention strategies, translate findings into training and workflow changes
Serve as a liaison between CDI, Coding, HIM, and clinical staff to facilitate collaboration, resolve issues, implement repeatable processes, ensure consistent application of documentation standards and policies, and advocates for CDI best practices.
Be the super-user mindset for CDI operations with the ability to optimize CDI software, worklists, flags, templates, smart phrases, query formats, and reporting views. Partner with IT/Clinical informatics to improve EHR workflows that impact documentation. Maintain clean, auditable documentation for processes, training materials, policies and communications
Trend, track and communicate program performance using dashboards and structured reporting with productivity, query metrics, financial impact, quality outcomes and denials and clinical validation trends. Present performance and action plans to leadership with clear narrative and next steps.
Maintains clear communication of program updates, risks, or needs, and actively resolves or mitigates risks. Continuously develops expertise in CDI guidelines, documentation trends and steps in to support front-line documentation review activities during staffing shortages or special projects
Qualifications include:
Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG), or Registered Nurse (RN), Pharmacist, Doctor of Physical Therapy
RHIA, RHIT, or related clinical/allied health degree
Minimum of 8-10 years inpatient clinical experience
2+ years of clinical documentation, coding, case management, utilization review, or acute-care clinical experience
Experience interpreting physician documentation, lab results, imaging, and clinical indicators.
Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRGs, SOI/ROM or HCC is a plus
Lean Six Sigma Green belt preferred
Minimum of 1 year; 2 years preferred.
Required and active certification for:
CCDS (Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist), CDIP (Clinical
Documentation Improvement Practitioner) or equivalent
Other certifications preferred:
Certified Documentation Expert Inpatient (CDEI)
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Maintains current working knowledge of Coding Clinic Guidelines and federal updates to DRG system (MS, APR, AP etc)
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and disease processes.
Proficient in Microsoft office, data analytics tools

Pay Range:

$105,664.42 - $158,496.00
