Job description

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and skilled nursing care in a busy outpatient clinic setting. As an Ambulatory RN, you will support physicians and advanced practice providers by delivering thorough patient assessments, treatments, testing, and education.
Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a secure environment for patients.
  • Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections according to policy.
  • Administer medications via oral, IM, SC, topical, and IV routes as ordered.
  • Assist providers with procedures, including preparation of instruments and supplies.
  • Support examinations within the scope of practice and perform phone triage.
  • Serve as a liaison between providers and patients, communicating test results and answering patient inquiries.
  • Document patient complaints, care details, medication lists, and visit summaries accurately in medical records.
  • Manage inventory of medications and supplies to maintain optimal levels.
  • Maintain venous access devices and administer IV push medications and flushes as ordered.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and accurately obtain vital signs and weights.
  • Educate patients and guardians on electronic health record portals and benefits.
  • Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
  • Provide patient teaching and supportive services as directed.
  • Train nursing and medical assistant staff in clinic procedures.
  • Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, obtain precertifications as required.
  • Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, teamwork, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards.

Education
Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse program is required.
Experience
Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Certifications and Licenses
Current RN license in a Compact state or the state of Missouri is required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
Mental and Physical Requirements
This role requires considerable mental focus, the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, and frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
Working Conditions
Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals, may occur. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
