We are seeking a PRN-as needed motivated and skilled Nurse Clinic RN to join our team. The Nurse Clinic RN is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective and quality patient-centered care of patients in the clinic and perioperative setting for all patient populations; provide age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice

Key Responsibilities

of this role include, but are not limited to

  • Act as an advocate for the patient.
  • Provide consistent, age-specific, culturally competent, and ethical care.
  • Maintain privacy, dignity and confidentiality of the patient and health information.
  • Clinic/Pre-surgery:
    • Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension. Educate patient and caregiver of patient at pre-operative appointment regarding wound management, nutritional management, medication management, pain and comfort management, and expected psychosocial responses. Ensure patient has appropriate caregiver to take and care for patient at home.
    • Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
    • Obtain all required items for surgery including clearance/labs/special order supplies.
  • Perioperative:
    • Develops an individualized perioperative plan of care
    • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
    • Assess patientโ€™s perioperative status at intervals according to facility or health care organization policies and procedures to include the patientโ€™s:
      • cardiovascular system,
      • respiratory system and airway management needs,
      • neurological system,
      • hemodynamic stability,
      • pain and comfort needs, and
      • mental status.
  • Emergency Care:
    • Maintain emergency equipment and understand use of such
    • Emergency management of patient as needed.
    • Respond to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocol.
    • Transfer care as needed.
    • Maintain required competencies related to emergency care including current ACLS & BLS certification
  • Other:
    • Understand the importance of cost containment
    • Understand the importance of and participate in risk management activities
    • Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects.
    • Participate in performance appraisal process
    • Maintain required competencies
    • Understand and comply with all HIPPA, OSHA and biohazard rules, standards, regulations and policies.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), with at least 1-2 years of experience in a surgical or circulating nurse role, preferably in a plastic surgery, dermatology, or cosmetic surgery setting.
  • Experience with plastic surgery procedures, such as facelifts, breast augmentations, liposuction, and rhinoplasty is highly preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required, depending on the clinical setting.
  • Certification in perioperative nursing (e.g., CNOR) may be preferred for surgical roles.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential patient information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Empathetic and patient-focused approach, with strong bedside manners.
  • Ability to educate and communicate complex information to patients and their families.
