As the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room (OR) at Weston, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing 19 operating rooms. Surgical specialties performed in the OR include Transplant, Robotics, Ortho, General, GYN, GU, ENT, Plastics, Cardiac Surgery and Neurosurgery.

As Nurse Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the best possible patient care in your department. You will oversee daily operations, drive improvement initiatives, assure regulatory readiness, support shared governance and collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team. Your dedication and tireless efforts will make a difference in the lives of patients, families and visitors each day.


Caregivers in this role are salaried/exempt and work primarily days Monday-Friday. At times, this position requires flexibility in accordance with the needs of the department.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.

  • Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinicalsupervisionandmaintainquality outcomes and patient care standards.

  • Identifyand resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.

  • Develop quality initiatives and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.

  • Supervise caregivers and promote development.

  • Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.

  • Develop andmonitorbudgets, approvepurchasesandestablish/revise inventory quotes.

  • Analyze personnel structure anddeterminestaffing needs.

  • Evaluate performance, conductselectionand terminationprocessesand develop strategic plans.

  • Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor's degree inNursing(BSN)

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or through American Red Cross within first year of hire

  • Three years of recent clinical nursing experience including at least one year of healthcare management experience

  • High degree of clinicalexpertisein the specialty area

  • Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Two years of Operating Room manager experience, including high-acuity, complex services lines

  • Master's Degree in nursing, business administration or healthcare-related field

  • An understanding of robotics in an OR setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination.

  • Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking.

  • Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range.

  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
