Job description

Join the legal team that works at the forefront of sustainability initiatives as we build a better future together at Amazon scale. In 2019, Amazon co-founded The Climate Pledge, a commitment to achieve net-zero carbon emissions across its businesses by 2040. Amazon is looking for a talented attorney to support Amazon's long-term sustainability strategy.

You will support Amazon's Worldwide Sustainability team in pursuing a wide range of sustainability initiatives. We aim to have a net-positive impact on the world through sustainability because it's good for the planet, for our business, for our customers, and for our communities.
Key job responsibilities
You will support Amazon's Worldwide Sustainability team by:
- Evaluating, implementing, and scaling initiatives related to decarbonization, carbon neutralization, waste, and water usage, as well as Amazon's efforts toward the circular economy and more sustainable buildings, products, packaging, and transportation.
- Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements for new transactional initiatives
- Manage outside counsel relationships across multiple jurisdictions and develop scalable contract templates and processes.
- Navigate emerging regulations and compliance requirements
- Advise on the development of new products and services
- Provide counsel on evolving climate finance mechanisms and sustainability standards
- Provide strategic legal counsel on transactions and advise on strategy, policy, public relations, and regulatory issues around the globe related to new technologies and sustainability in our operations and our supply chain.
