About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, detail-minded data analyst consultant to join our global business development and strategy team. In this role, you will be embedded at Monks, serving as a critical partner dedicated to supporting one of our most prestigious, high-profile client accounts. If you look forward to untangling complex business problems, driving data-led strategy, and thriving in a fast-moving, collaborative environment, we want to hear from you.

Note on Location & Structure: This is a contract role based out of Austin, Texas, with a hybrid schedule requiring you to be on-site 3 days per week.

About You
The Skills & Toolkit Youโ€™ll Bring:

  • 6+ years of experience in a data analyst or analytics consultant role, ideally within a fast-paced agency or global client-facing environment.
  • Core Tech: Advanced SQL is required; scripting knowledge in Python/Shell is highly preferred.
  • Data Engine: Strong familiarity with database modeling, data warehousing principles, and using Trino for independent querying.
  • Data Viz: Experience building dashboards and data visualizations that tell a story (knowledge of Tableau, Superset, and SAP Business Objects is a plus).
  • Workflow: Complete proficiency in Jira (owning the full ticket lifecycle) and native fluency in Agile/Scrum environments (ceremonies, backlog hygiene, sprint management).

  • Deep-Dive Analysis: Immerse yourself in the client's complex financial datasets, applying advanced data discovery and modeling methodologies while collaborating cross-functionally with various data owners and analysts.

Collaboration & Strategy

  • Bridge the Gap: Partner directly with data product managers and data engineers to translate complex business needs into sharp, actionable analytical requirements.
  • Influence the Roadmap: Communicate your analysis and strategic insights clearly and effectively to product and leadership teams to directly shape the clientโ€™s overarching product strategy.
  • Proactive Communication: Transparently share and demystify data methodologies and results with a diverse, fast-moving set of global stakeholders.

This role is subject to our Return to Office (RTO) policy. If you reside within a commutable distance of one of our office locations, you will be expected to work from the office a set number of days per week. The specific details, including the number of required office days, will be in accordance with the companyโ€™s then-current RTO policy, which is subject to change from time to time.

Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidateโ€™s sex or any other protected status.
