MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Writer to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. This is an onsite position.
The Technical Writer will leverage their strong technical background and knowledge to support the Sponsor's system documentation efforts, to include creating technical publications, responding to/implementing/documenting required processes, and completing required tasks/actions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Writing and editing technical documentation for all project hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and how-to guides.
  • Providing field, data definition, and data flow documentation while formatting technical publications from pamphlets, drawings, and engineering consultations.
  • Creating software code documentation along with producing deployment implementation guides and end-user capability manuals.
  • Preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining diverse technical documents encompassing systems engineering, operations, testing, and user materials.
  • Preparing reports, detailed responses, and executive briefings targeted to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years of related experience in Technical Writing.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering complex technical information and distilling it into clear documentation.
  • Experience creating technical copy and publications for programs or projects of similar complexity.
  • Experience coordinating the layout, design, and formatting of intricate system and hardware documents.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience creating public-facing documents from technical drawings and engineering consultations.
  • Proficiency working with collaborate platforms including SharePoint and Confluence.
  • Self-starter with excellent people skills - able to work across teams, organize meetings/boards, and drive change throughout an organization.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess a current or active Secret Security clearance

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time while working with computers, data, numbers, and figures.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and interact with technical personnel.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations and technical briefings.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations under pressure while multi-tasking.
