Position Summary

The Business Development & Client Relations Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with current clients, prospective clients, strategic partners, and industry decision-makers.

Coordinate with company leadership to develop account strategies and pursuit plans

Provide weekly updates regarding client activity, developing opportunities, required follow-up, and areas where technical leadership is needed

Assist with client appreciation activities and strategic outreach

Help evaluate why opportunities were won, lost, or delayed

Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when representing the company

Perform other business development and client relations duties as needed

Listens carefully and asks thoughtful questions

Can recognize client needs and potential business opportunities

Is comfortable attending meetings, conferences, and networking events independently

Can represent the company professionally in both office and construction-site environments

Is willing to travel regularly throughout Louisiana and occasionally into Texas or other regional markets

Can learn technical services without overstating their level of expertise

Understands that every meaningful client interaction should end with a documented next step

Is comfortable being measured through both relationship-building activity and business results

Has the confidence to enter unfamiliar rooms, introduce the company, and build relationships with decision-makers

Preferred Experience

Three or more years of experience in business development, client relations, account management, outside sales, construction, engineering, surveying, land development, utilities, municipal services, or another architecture, engineering, and construction-related field

Existing relationships within engineering, construction, development, industrial, municipal, utility, or infrastructure markets are highly desirable

Demonstrated experience developing professional relationships that resulted in new clients, contracts, projects, or revenue

Experience using a CRM or another structured client follow-up system

Experience organizing professional meetings, client presentations, conferences, Lunch and Learns, or networking events

Familiarity with professional services and relationship-based business development

Education

A bachelorโ€™s degree in business, marketing, communications, construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Relevant industry experience, demonstrated relationship-building ability, professional maturity, and a proven history of follow-through may be considered in place of a specific degree.

Required Qualifications

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Professional appearance and demeanor

Proficiency with email, calendars, Microsoft Office, and mobile business applications

Ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with company leadership

Willingness to occasionally attend breakfast meetings, evening events, conferences, or other functions outside normal business hours

Growth within targeted markets and assigned accounts

Accurate and consistent use of the companyโ€™s CRM

Strong coordination with company leadership and technical personnel

Growth in the companyโ€™s qualified opportunity pipeline

Revenue generated from new and developed client relationships

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary of $75,000โ€“$110,000 annually , depending on relevant experience, existing industry relationships, and demonstrated business-development performance

Performance-based bonus opportunity

Company vehicle or vehicle allowance

Reimbursement of approved travel, conference, client-development, and business expenses

Paid time off

Company-supported professional development and industry participation

Additional employee benefits discussed during the interview process

Exceptional candidates with a substantial industry network and a documented record of developing significant professional-services revenue may receive additional consideration.

This is a professional salaried position and is not a commission-only sales role.
