Job description

Client Solutions Specialist - North America
Are you energized by the hunt for new business and excited by technology that sits at the intersection of neuroscience and human behavior? Do you want to own a territory, build a pipeline from scratch, and close your own deals - all at a fast-growing, mission-driven company where curiosity is valued and no two days look the same?
iMotions is a Biometric Research Software Company that enables human behavior researchers to integrate cutting-edge neuroscience channels - Eye Tracking, Facial Expressions, EEG, GSR, and more - into their work. We are expanding our North America commercial team and are looking for a Client Solutions Specialist (CSS) based in Boston, Massachusetts, to drive new business across the region.
This is a unique, full-cycle role. You will own your pipeline from first outreach all the way through close - building relationships, running discovery and demos, managing proposals, and bringing deals across the finish line. Outbound prospecting is a core expectation of the role, not an afterthought. This is the right opportunity for someone who wants meaningful responsibility early in their career and is ready to earn it.
The Role
Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, North America based in Boston, the CSS will be responsible for generating and closing new business across an assigned territory. You will work closely with the Customer Success team to ensure a seamless handoff at close and to identify expansion opportunities within your accounts, and with Marketing to align outbound activity with campaigns and messaging.
A key component of this role is the ability to engage confidently across both Academic and Commercial environments - from a university research lab building out their first biometric setup, to a Fortune 500 insights team evaluating tools for ad testing or UX research.
Responsibilities
  • Outbound Prospecting: Proactively identify, research, and reach out to prospective customers through outbound channels - email, LinkedIn, phone, and event follow-up - to build a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.

  • Full Sales Cycle Ownership: Manage deals from first contact through close, including discovery, product demonstrations, proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution.

  • Territory Management: Develop and execute a territory plan that balances outbound prospecting with timely follow-up on inbound leads, conference pipeline, and referrals.

  • Dual-Sector Selling:
    • Academic: Engage university labs, research institutes, and faculty - understanding experimental design and methodology to position iMotions as the right research infrastructure investment.
    • Commercial: Sell into UX, marketing, pharma, automotive, and consumer insights teams - connecting biometric capabilities to real business outcomes and ROI.

  • Discovery & Qualification: Run structured discovery conversations to understand customer goals, buying processes, technical requirements, and decision-making timelines.

  • Product Demonstrations: Deliver compelling, tailored demos of the iMotions platform, with support from our team of Product Specialists where needed.

  • CRM Hygiene & Forecasting: Maintain accurate opportunity records in the CRM (Salesforce) and provide reliable pipeline forecasts to sales leadership.

  • Market Development: Identify new verticals, use cases, and target accounts that represent growth opportunities. Share field intelligence with Marketing and Product Management.

  • Event & Conference Representation: Represent iMotions at industry conferences, trade shows, and academic events in North America to generate leads and advance pipeline.

  • Customer Handoff: Partner with Customer Success to ensure a smooth transition at close and set new customers up for a strong onboarding experience.

Desired Skills and Experience
  • Sales Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a sales or business development role, ideally in a B2B software or technology environment. A track record of outbound prospecting and closing deals, even at an early stage, is strongly preferred.

  • Full-Cycle Aptitude: Comfortable owning a deal end-to-end. You can run a discovery call, deliver a demo, write a proposal, and ask for the business.

  • Domain Interest: A genuine interest in neuroscience, psychology, human behavior research, or technology. You do not need to be a scientist, but you need to be excited about the subject matter and willing to develop real expertise over time.

  • Communication & Versatility: Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Ability to adapt tone and approach for both academic researchers and business stakeholders - discussing experimental methodology one call, procurement and ROI the next.

  • Organized & Self-Directed: Comfortable managing a territory independently. Strong follow-through, able to prioritize across a diverse pipeline without losing momentum on any deal.

  • Tech Comfortable: Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and standard productivity tools. Ability to learn new software quickly.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel within the North America region for conferences, customer visits, and team meetings (estimated 15-25%).

  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

What We Offer
We're a Danish company with deep roots in Boston, which means you'll join a team that's curious about the world and the people in it. Here's what comes with that:
  • A Global Community: Join an international team that values curiosity, collaboration, and different perspectives. We believe the best ideas come from people with different backgrounds, experiences, and ways of thinking. We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcome applicants of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities.

  • Meaningful Work: Help researchers, innovators, and Fortune 500 companies better understand human behavior through technology that makes a real impact across science, healthcare, product development, and beyond.

  • Good People, Great Job: You'll join a team of welcoming colleagues who are deeply passionate about what we do. We support one another both as teammates and people, we celebrate each other's successes, and genuinely enjoy working together.

  • Career Development: This role is designed to grow with you. High performers will have a clear path to a senior CSS or Customer Success role, with coaching, mentorship, and structured development along the way.

  • Flexibility That Fits Real Life: Life doesn't stop when work starts. We offer flexibility and trust so you can do your best work while taking care of what matters outside the office.

  • Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance with a 90% company contribution toward our standard plans.

  • Generous Time Off: Four weeks of vacation, five personal days, twelve paid holidays, and sick leave - because everyone needs time to rest, recharge, and come back at their best.

  • Invest in Your Future: A 401(k) with a 100% company match on the first 5% of your salary.

  • Peace of Mind: Disability and life insurance to help protect you and your family.

  • Support for Growing Families: Twelve weeks of fully paid parental leave, in addition to your regular PTO.

Location
This is an in-person position based in Boston, Massachusetts, where you'll work closely with our local team while collaborating with colleagues across Europe, Asia, and North America.
