Job description

About the Role
As a seasonal Client Service Professional / Receptionist at H&R Block, you'll be the welcoming first impression for every client. You'll manage client scheduling, support daily office operations, and work alongside a team of tax professionals. With training and support, this role can be a stepping stone into tax preparation or office leadership. This role is in-person and not remote.
  • Greet clients warmly and create a welcoming, professional first impression as the face of the office
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and match clients with the right tax professional based on their needs
  • Manage client check-in and intake processes, including scanning and organizing documents
  • Maintain office organization and cleanliness to support a smooth, professional client experience
  • Collaborate with tax professionals and team members to ensure seamless daily operations
  • Handle sensitive client information with confidentiality, discretion, and care

Required Qualifications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, client-centric environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and serve clients professionally
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities throughout the day
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
  • Comfort using basic computer programs and digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Teams and scheduling systems)
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hospitality, call center, customer service or medical industries
  • Previous experience in a receptionist, front desk, or administrative support role
  • Experience working in a tax office, CPA firm, or financial services environment
