Job Description
Sporting Kansas City's Ticket Sales & Service Intern will hold a temporary position within the company, with an emphasis on training and gathering practical experience in sales and service operations for a professional sports organization. The Ticket Sales & Service Intern will gain hands-on experience working with the Sales Team, collaborating in an environment full of learning opportunities designed to help all interns evolve their capabilities, challenge their strengths, and reach their fullest potential.
This Internship will run from August 25th - December 11th.

Essential Functions
  • Assist Sales Team and Client Services Team with prospect list compilation and database entry.

  • Assist the Sales Team and Client Services Team with research and maintaining the database.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and the Sporting Club organization on game day and at other various out-of-office promotional events.
  • Prospect new clients by networking through the community and using strategic telemarketing and communications.
  • Perform various game day duties with the Sales Team and Client Services Team.
  • Required to work a minimum of two (2) days in the office, in addition to all Sporting Kansas City home games.

  • Always represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Match Day Responsibilities
  • Act as representatives of Sporting Kansas City at all home matches, engaging with guests and working to create Magic Moments for all fans.

  • Assist the Ticket Sales & Service Team in all day-to-day and event day decisions that need to be made in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all fans at Children's Mercy Park.
  • Attend all Sporting Kansas City home games, as well as non-soccer related events.
  • Always represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree or graduate degree in Sports Marketing and Management, Business, Communications, or other related field required.
  • Previous coursework or desire to learn and understand the application of effective selling strategies and techniques.
  • Awareness of sports industry development.

  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Calendar.
