Job description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Customer Service Associate is Responsible for the proper, efficient, and safe operation of his or her shift, in such a manner as to ensure contributing to the increased profitability of the store.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
โ€ข Observe work schedule as posted unless a change is approved by Store Manager.
โ€ข Adheres to all City, County, State and Federal laws.
โ€ข Operates shift within company guidelines to achieve sales and profits and maintain standards.
โ€ข Performs all duties in a safe, reliable manner.
โ€ข Completes an incident report for all employee/customer accidents or property damage on the premises.
โ€ข Completes shift change checklist according to guidelines.
โ€ข Records information as warranted in the store communication log.
โ€ข Stays familiar with company manuals, bulletins, and other communications.
โ€ข Advises Stores Manager of any situations having an adverse effect on store operating performance.
โ€ข Prepares a shift change report at the completion of shift in accordance with company guidelines.
โ€ข Properly records all hours worked and signs a timecard verifying all hours worked.
โ€ข Assures proper sale and accounting of all merchandise purchased during shift.
โ€ข Gives all customers prompt and courteous service.
โ€ข Maintains personal appearance according to guidelines in Employee Handbook.
โ€ข Wears company uniform and name badge while on duty.
โ€ข Greet all customers with a smile and friendly acknowledgment.
โ€ข Rings merchandise promptly, counts back change, offers receipt.
โ€ข Assists customers who need help.
โ€ข Reminds customers of specials, when appropriate.
โ€ข Expresses appreciation to all customers.
โ€ข Handles customer complaints according to company guidelines.
โ€ข Responsible for controlling cash and inventory on their shift according to company guidelines.
โ€ข Always protects company assets.
โ€ข Bring to the attention of the Store Manager any damaged or spoiled merchandise discovered on their shift.
โ€ข Keeps coolers, store shelves and displays fully stocked and always fronted.
โ€ข Ensures the fast-food area is clean and supplies are always fully stocked.
โ€ข Keeps check-out counter clean and free of clutter.
โ€ข Uses correct pricing for all merchandise.
โ€ข Always keeps store/floor clean.
โ€ข Checks all refrigeration units for proper temperature.
โ€ข Cleans windows; doors; floors; shelves; counters; and gas pumps and checks pumps and hoses for leakage, as necessary.
โ€ข Contacts service department in the absence of store manager for any problem listed on the "after hours" maintenance list.
โ€ข Ensures that the standards of all operations within the store are met, including additional training that is required.
โ€ข Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints.
โ€ข Ensures food quality and safety standards are met through proper equipment cleaning, hygienic practices, and safe handling of food.
โ€ข Follows established procedures for storing, preparing, cooking, displaying, serving and accounting for product during their shift.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
โ€ข Retail sales preferred.
โ€ข Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
โ€ข Superior customer service skills
โ€ข Basic math skills sufficient to complete orders, calculate inventory, and manage cash registers
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
โ€ข Remaining in a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods.
โ€ข Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds, carrying cases of milk, soda, beer and juice, etc. in a safe manner.
โ€ข Squat, bend at waist, twist, grasp, reach and manipulate objects from ground to overhead to stock shelves.
โ€ข Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
โ€ข Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
โ€ข Ascending or descending stairs. Utilize step ladder to clean windows and retrieve materials.
โ€ข Sweep and mop floors, dust shelving and lift and carry trash bags to outside bins.
โ€ข Sweep parking lot and clean outside grounds and equipment.
โ€ข Enter and work in a cooler at a cold temperature as needed.
โ€ข Utilize a hand truck, flat cart, mop, broom.
โ€ข Handle and use cleaning products and solvents.
