This role oversees multiple crews, manages field operations, and ensures quality workmanship, productivity, and compliance with all codes and safety requirements. The General Foreman acts as the primary field leader, bridging communication between project management, field supervision, and client representatives, while modeling Kearney Electric's core values of Trust, Team, Grit, and Growth in every aspect of the job. This position will foster the overall strategic goals of the company to align with the company's strategic vision and the company's THREE COMMITMENTS.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Study and learn the scope and requirements of each project to create and follow an executable plan for a successful outcome. Establish and implement an overall manpower loading plan for the labor to be expended on the project from start to finish. Provide the Project Manager with anticipated dates for major purchases or long lead items to be on site within two weeks of being assigned the project.Ability to plan and sequence work, forecast manpower needs, and coordinate with GC, project managers, and other trades.Coordinate all items related to the budget with the Project Manager. Work collaboratively with project manager on planning and execution, workmanship, contract compliance, scheduling, budget, monthly Cost-to-Complete reports, change orders, and risk/problem identification and resolution. Participate in project team's handoff meeting, kickoff meeting, monthly cost-to-complete meetings, and post job meeting. Communicate regularly to ensure an ongoing dialogue with the project team about pertinent information concerning a project. Identify and resolve risk/problems to the project before they occur.Lead and direct assigned field employees in a professional manner to perform all work within the budgeted costs for each activity of the job. Direct, layout, and assign duties and tasks to field employees to meet the progress and schedule of the job. Supervise to ensure the work is performed to Kearney standards, efficiently and safely. Train and motivate assigned field employees to work to the best of their abilities. Plan all tool, equipment, subcontractor, testing, and manpower needs far enough in advance to meet the schedule without expending premium costs for expediting. Prepare a weekly update on the 3-week manpower schedule to forecast labor staffing needs. Prepare monthly update on the 4-month manpower schedule to forecast labor. Establish and maintain jobsite files. Keep accurate job records, including as-builts, signed weekly safety meeting logs and logbook. Coordinate all job activities with the owner, general contractor, and subcontractors.Promote safety practices and procedures. Ensure job site safety meetings occur, employee safety training is attended, and enforce safety policies. Communicate safety issues and concerns and report any safety violations to Kearney Electric Safety Department.Maintain project documentation including as-builts, signed weekly safety meeting logs and logbook.Maintain company provided vehicle and tools in proper working condition JOB REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to work outdoors year-round in various weather conditions typical to Arizona (heat, cold, dust, wind).Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and mentor crews of 10-50+ electricians' journeyman and apprentices.Expert knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70E, and local electrical codes.Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and structures, and work at heights exceeding 30 feet.Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance.Requires manual dexterity to handle tools, materials, and electrical components.Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or walk for extended periods.Ability to see and identify wire colors and small components and hear instructions and alarms in a construction environment.Must follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations without exception.Required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as dictated by site safety requirements (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, high-visibility clothing, etc.).Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for all crew members and ensuring compliance with Lockout/Tagout, fall protection, and confined space procedures.Must communicate effectively (verbal and written) with team members, supervisors, and clients.Ability to complete daily reports, timecards, and material requests accurately.Expected to model professionalism, teamwork, and integrity at all times.Must adhere to company policies, including attendance, conduct, and ethics standards.QUALIFICATIONS:  8-10 years of electrical field experience, with at least 2-4 years in a supervisory or foreman role.High school diploma or GED required.Completion of a state-approved electrical apprenticeship or equivalent journeyman certification.Exceptional leadership skills Proven track record managing crews on large-scale commercial or industrial electrical projects.Skilled in blueprint reading, layout, and installation of conduit, switchgear, lighting, and data/low voltage systems.Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving complex electrical systems.Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Bluebeam Revu, Procore, Foundation, PlanGrid) and digital field reporting tools.Skilled in reading and interpreting project schedules.LICENSES/SPECIAL TRAINING: State of Arizona Journeyman Electrician License (or equivalent from another state if applicable).OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.Current First Aid/CPR certification preferredSAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:Each employee has a responsibility for their own safety, the safety of their co-workers, and the community in which they are operating.In the performance of duties and responsibilities, you are expected to observe all safety, health, and loss prevention rules, practices, and procedures, as well as specific instructions related to the safe and efficient performance of your work.An effective and viable safety, health, and loss prevention program will be attained only when all employees are safety conscious and keenly aware, both mentally and physically, of the potential hazards of your environment.GENERAL SIGN OFF:  This is not an all-encompassing job description but more a brief Summary of duties for the position.
